So What is Temple 1209?
Temple 1209 is a Black-owned and woman-owned small business, founded in 2020 by Cheram (“Charlie”) Briggs - a licensed massage therapist, meditation coach, and mentor. Cheram saw the need for more accessibility to self-care in her community and wanted to create a safe space for others who might constantly neglect their self-care for the sake of their jobs, families, or their goals.
Temple 1209 believes in getting to the core of your pain which is oftentimes emotional or spiritual dis-ease that is manifesting as physical pain. You might be experiencing frequent headaches, neck and shoulder pain, chronic anxiety, or depression. You might be struggling with intrusive thoughts and low self esteem. You have the desire to be in proper alignment with your highest self, but you just need a little guidance.
The “Temple” refers to your body and soul, whereas the “1209” refers to Temple 1209’s founder’s date of birth. Together, we transmute the tension, ascend into higher consciousness, and become more mindful of the mind-body-spirit connection.
